Browser extension

Every ntoola tool, one click away.

The ntoola extension adds a toolbar button that converts the current page, a selection, or a linked PDF — without leaving your workflow. Works in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, and every other Chromium browser.

Installation steps

Manifest V3 · v1.0.0 · Works in Chromium browsers · Chrome Web Store version coming soon.

One-click PDF

Save the current tab or your selection as a clean, laid-out PDF.

Right-click OCR

Extract text from any image on the page in your language of choice.

Zero uploads

Everything runs locally. Your pages, files, and selections never leave your device.

Install in 4 steps

Because the extension is not yet on the Chrome Web Store, install it as an unpacked extension. Takes under a minute.

  1. 1

    Download & unzip

Click 'Download extension' above and unzip the archive on your computer.

  2. 2

    Open extensions page

Visit chrome://extensions in Chrome (or edge://extensions in Edge).

  3. 3

    Enable developer mode

Toggle 'Developer mode' on in the top-right of the extensions page.

  4. 4

    Load unpacked

Click 'Load unpacked' and select the unzipped ntoola-extension folder.

All set. The ntoola icon appears in your toolbar (pin it via the puzzle icon for one-click access). Right-click any image or PDF link for additional actions.

What can I do with it?

  • Save the current tab as a clean PDF (no ads, no popups).
  • Turn a text selection into a laid-out PDF in one click.
  • Right-click any image → extract its text with OCR.
  • Right-click a PDF link → convert to Word or Excel without downloading first.
  • Open the ntoola web app from anywhere with a single shortcut.

Privacy

Nothing leaves your device.

The extension does the same thing the web app does — heavy lifting stays in your browser. We do not collect telemetry from the extension. It uses only the permissions it needs to read the active tab and open new tabs on your behalf.
